The Model b
Originally made for the V16 by a Woodworking friend. For many years, I was always so absorbed by European Engine Builders of V16's and one of my main ones was Bugatti also Harry Miller and BRM and lots of others, I was interested in the Pre-war era. For me to take it on... to build one… I was riddled with enthusiasm and so I had the model made, I was using a full constructed dream, built in my own workshop, like my past engines .... but they were only one and two cylinders and when I really started to look at making 16 conrods, 16 pistons, 16 cylinder heads, 16 barrels and the list goes on, I started to contemplate what could I use to assemble the crankshaft and crankcase and just make the top end, so I started to think about what is there alot of...... and I came up with "Victa Lawnmowers", good quality steel , pressed up crankshafts, that I could disassemble and reassemble into a 16 cylinder V using the conrods and the flywheels. I abandoned making my own crankshaft and conrods and carried on the story. This V16 is now influenced by a Craftsman I met while my girlfriend was attending his 10 day workshop at the University in Toowoomba using Found Objects and turning Scrap Metal into beautiful Pieces of Art..... that is now the road I am on with this Piece.
